This unusual bangle is vintage but I am unsure of the exact time period. I do know that it is truely vintage and you can tell that it has been well loved and worn. I am guessing it originated in Africa. The body is carved from what looks like ebony wood and the interesting design that goes around the outside of the bracelet is silver circles pounded into the wood. It measures 1/2 inch wide and the hand opening is a bit over 2 1/2 inches across so it will fit a large hand and wrist. The inside of the bangle has a carved, textured look. The condition is very good but I counted five small sections where some of the circles are missing, the wood underneath has the same design the silver would have if it were there. The design is so busy that I had to reallt study the piece to notice this.
